Francis turbine was applied wildly and developed to the field of high water head because it has these advantages of high speed, small size of hydroelectric generating set, low price, full using of water head and high frequency during full load. It also has the disadvantage of having low frequency during the low load. And it is less convenient for maintenance and changing broken parts than impulse water turbine. The specific speed range is n_s =50~300 in general and the water head is H=30~700 meters.
